Slumdog Millionaire

Just recently finished reading Q&A by Vikas Swarup. His book is a good read and completely different from the film. When will these English people learn to give us respect? What right do they have to show India in such bad light? What was our Indian government doing when these shots were being canned? I strongly condemn the scenes where you see more of filth in the slums when we know that the slums are quite clean areas in the city. I am glad that AB did not agree to do the scene where the kid jumps in a shit pot to get his autograph. AB had the foresight to understand the script of the film and took the right decision. If the same film would have been written by an Indian and directed by one, nobody would have bothered to see it. Oscars would have been a long lost dream. And why such hype about the Oscars? They are like Filmfare Awards in America, rigged to the core and favouritism wins!

I think A R Rehman has created much better compositions than "Jai Ho". He has given some far better music and never been nominated. Obviously also because he hasn't composed for a Hollywood film and Oscars are for Hollywood. Why is it that Indians are dying to win an Oscar? Our efforts are being appreciated by a lot of people abroad. We don't need an Oscar for that.

People - if we do not protect our dignity and self-respect, the other countries will never do. We have already proveed our mettle to the world and are doing better in every field that we are getting into. Kalpana Chawla even went in space and was a part of NASA and made us proud. Big companies and multi internationals have Indians as their CEOs and other employees.

Am always proud to be an Indian! Will always be! What say guys?
