Southern Lakes in New Zealand named one of the Lonely Planet's must-visit Destinations for 2012 Influential travel authority, Lonely Planet, has chosen New Zealand's Southern Lakes region as one of the world's Top 10 Regions to visit in 2012. According to a release, the Southern Lakes region of Queenstown, Lake Wanaka and Fiordland is the only New Zealand region to feature in the new book, Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2012 - the best trends, destinations, journeys and experiences for the upcoming year. Queenstown and Southern Lakes is ranked eighth in the book's list of Top 10 Regions for its year-round activities and spectacular scenery. Making Your Own Momos

If you’ve been to the Himalayas you probably already encountered these tasty filled Nepalese dumplings and want to reproduce them. If you haven’t tried them yet, it is about time you do. Here we’ve got a receipe for you, so you can easily make momos at home: Dough: 1 cup    flour ¼ tsp    salt 2 tsp.    vegetable oil 100 ml cold water Sift the flour and salt. Add oil and mix properly with your fingers. Add water gradually and keep mixing with your fingers till you get a firm dough. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and keep aside for half an hour. To save time, you can also just buy frozen, ready-made and spread dough. You can find it in Asian supermarkets. Making Momos: Divide the dough into three portions. Take one portion, make a ball of it and flatten it on your rolling board. Roll evenly with a rolling pin trying to get a square of about 9-inches. Fascinating Delhi!

It's an irony that in a country which is 75 per cent Hindu the most impressive sights in the capital city of Delhi have virtually all been provided by Muslim or Christian invaders. Sure, there are some interesting Hindu shrines in Delhi, like the Laxmi Narayan Temple, built in 1939 by the fabulously wealthy Birla family to honour - appropriately enough - the goddess of prosperity. And there are several memorials built to honour the country's greatest Hindu politicians, of which the most moving is the simple black marble slab and everlasting flame on the spot where the man who won independence for India, Mahatma Gandhi, was cremated.  But almost all the places to which tourists are taken so they can marvel at the wonders of this ancient land were actually created by the Muslim invaders from central Asia who conquered the country 900 years ago.
